• Your email address, and your first name if you give it. You type these in yourself.
• How you interact with our emails — whether a letter was opened and which links were clicked. We use this to see which systems are useful and which ones aren't.
• Basic technical information your browser sends when you load a page, such as the general region you're in and the type of device you're using.

We don't ask for and don't want your address, phone number, date of birth, financial information, or government ID.

• To send you the weekly letter you asked for.
• To answer you when you reply to us.
• To tell you about our own books and programs. Never anyone else's, and never as a paid placement.
• To keep the list healthy — removing addresses that bounce or go inactive.

We use outside services to run the letter and the site. They only process your information to do that job for us:

• MailerLite — stores the list and delivers the email.
• Vercel — hosts this website.
• GoDaddy — manages the domain.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Signing up doesn't put you on the list. You get one email asking you to confirm, and nothing else arrives until you click it. If you never click, the unconfirmed address is removed.

Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until your address has been inactive for two years — whichever comes first. When you unsubscribe we keep a record of the unsubscribe itself, so we don't accidentally email you again.

• Unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any letter. It works on the first click.
• See, correct, or delete what we hold about you — email us and we'll handle it within 30 days.
• If you're in the EU, UK, California, or another place with its own privacy law, you have the rights that law gives you, and asking us to honor them will never get you treated differently.

This site uses only what's needed to serve the pages. We don't run advertising trackers on it. Email open and click tracking happens inside the emails themselves, and turning images off in your email app stops open tracking.

This site isn't for anyone under 16. If a child's information reaches us, email us and we'll delete it.

Your information sits with the providers named above, protected by their security and encrypted in transit. No system is perfect, and we won't pretend otherwise. If a breach affects you, we'll tell you.

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Material changes get announced in the letter.
